It’s My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop time again!

Hi everyone!

As the title says, it’s that time again.  I’m so glad to be able to share little bits of my work.

And, after you read my little snippet, run over the http://www.mysexysatruday.blogspot.com and check out other great excerpts!

https://pamlabud.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/f02cd-mss_button2b250x250.jpg

As a romance reader, it’s the stories of true love I crave.  And, not the sweet, easy kind, but rather the love that comes from struggle, from perseverance, and from triumph.  Real love isn’t easy, but when it’s achieved, then it’s amazing.

But, before all that, there is a beginning.  That small, tender moment when things change forever for both of them.

I’ve chosen this snippet from my book, To Rescue an Earl, which is a soon to be re-released and retitled version of my book The Mad Earl.

The Set-up~

Pushed into a marriage of convenience, Miranda Ellerton is newly wed to Michael Kelton, the Earl of Winningham, known by his peers as “The Mad Earl.”  A tortured soul, given to fits on occasion, a tortured soul lies beneath his uneven manner.  He’s a mystery, for sure, and one that Miranda would risk her life to figure out.

The Snippet~

“Michael, what’s wrong?” Then she quickly added, “Other than marrying me, I mean.”

He kept his eyes closed now, not daring to look at her. “You just went out onto the balcony…” he started. “I am sorry, but you must go.”

Miranda would have none of it. Suddenly she sprang to her feet and knelt before him.

“Listen to me,” she began. “I’m not going to fall off a balcony, get shot in a hunting accident, or be run over by a carriage. I’m here and you are not responsible for anything that happens to me. And while I don’t necessarily want to become your wife just now, it doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.”

Seconds passed as he sat unmoving. His fear was palpable, and she had the distinct impression that he was grasping her hands as if he were holding on for his life.
As suddenly as his panic took hold, he visibly relaxed. It was as though he’d come to some decision and was finally at peace with it.

“All right.  We shall be friends.”

Then, he did a most unexpected thing, something that would vex Miranda forever. He leaned forward and capturing her mouth, kissed her.

Weekend Writing Warriors Blog Hop, once again! (RO)

Hello!

Cry Wolf, Book I of the Weryn Chronicles

~the Set Up~

By the 1500’s England had eradicated the wolves from their land and in my story, the only way the wolves survived was to take human form, taking the name of Weyrn. Now, walking on two legs, they survive only under the subjugation of the English aristocracy. Born with the same sharp senses and ability to run faster, jump higher, they are relentless fighters and have a deep sense of family. In order to keep them under control, their masters have torn apart their packs and now they live apart, with very few exceptions. Pursued by the Royal Hunting Society, and ‘owned’ by their betters, the Weryn bloodlines are slowly dying out once again.

Nicholas Draverly, a Weyrn soldier who is fresh from the Spanish conflict and is awarded by the Crown with a small estate in Cornwall. Weary from war, wanting only to live out the rest of his life in seclusion, his plans are shattered when a female Weyrn attacks him on the road as he travels to his new home.

A young female, Mara, is desperate to find her sisters after her family home had been attacked and burned by the RHS, Barely able to escape, she was given the name of one Weryn male, rumored to be a prince, one who is said to possess the book of Families, which, written in code, has the locations of all the Weryn families. She knows the only way to save her family, her entire race is to convince the prince to take up her cause. Added to that, she has is going into ‘heat’ and must quickly find a mate, or die. And when a female of her kind bites or scratches their ‘true’ mate, the male’s body chemistry is changed and if the two don’t join, they will both perish.

The name of the male she must find? Nicholas Draverly…

~The Excerpt~

“The prey is waiting.”

The female sniffed the air.

Blood. The tangy scent mingled in the misty morning, stirring her hunger and setting her heart to a frenzied pace.

“He is waiting. Yours to consume if you dare to claim him.”

And dare, she did, for she was no longer just a simple Yorkshire girl barely on the shelf. She was a huntress and the male was somewhere nearby…

Another Super Sexy Satruday Snippet–Once is Not Enough!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Yes, it’s true.  One of the great things about a true romance novel, is the joy of two people discovering each other.  When finally they’ve overcome the ‘newness’ of their relationships and they soon learn that once is not enough!  This couple can’t get enough of each other.

And, after you read my entry, head on over to http://www.mysexysaturday.blogspot.com and check out all the other great excerpts there!

So, this week’s snippet is from my book, The Devil To Pay.

A Historical Regency paranormal romance, this is the story of Ayden Royce, a fallen angel who has been given one chance to get out of Hell, and that’s to seduce the beautiful Olivia Stone and convince her to sell her soul to his master.  A Jane Austen meets The Devil and Daniel Webster tale where Ayden must learn that sometimes you must sacrifice all for love and Olivia must discover that sometimes it’s not enough to sacrifice for love, you must fight for it, too!

~excerpt~

Ayden had been hit by lighting once. When he’d been fighting on the plains of ancient Greece. It had been in the midst of a thunderous storm and the high one had thrown down all of his might in form of fiery rain and caustic winds. Undaunted, the angel had fought on, until another angel, one of the high anointed ones with broad wings and four faces, lifted the arc of his bow and shot Ayden in the chest.  Because of his armor, plates forged in the fiery bowels of earth, Ayden’s existence had been spared. But the biting shock of the smallest sliver of the bolt had touched his skin and sent him into a thousand hells all at once.

The feeling had hurt him, far worse than his lashes in hell, but it had also left a profound mark on his soul. The lighting had been made of holy fire and it was like nothing that Ayden had ever felt before.  Until that moment.

Suddenly, he spun round, at the same time lifting her and then settling her on the bed beneath him. He delighted when she wrapped her legs around him, opening herself further and groaning with delighted pleasure when he sheathed himself fully inside of her.

Heaven and Hell. Olivia Stone-Proffitt was both. Her touch was fire on his skin and at the same time a soothing oil on his soul.

“Faster!” She cried beneath him. He was shocked that she could even articulate at so frantic a moment. But, he didn’t ponder it for long. With the next thrust into her Ayden gave up all thought and poured his whole self into his work.

As he increased the pace of their lovemaking, the obscure thought occurred to him. What if satisfying his own urges would not be enough to satisfy his desire for the woman? What would he do if Blalock were wrong, and bedding the chit was not enough?

What terrible torture that would be!

Paranormal Love Wednesdays Blog Hop!

Hello!

Once again, I’ve signed up to do the Paranormal Love Wednesdays Blog Hop. This week, I’m posting an excerpt from my book Grave Danger. When you’re done reading here, head over to the Paranormal Love Wednesdays and check out other cool excerpts there! http://www.paranormallovewednesdays.blogspot.com

Today I’m taking a break from my historical Regency or Time Travel paranormal romance stories and switching gears to my futurist fantasy romance.  Check it out!

Grave Danger: A post-apocalyptic zombie killing love story! When Maverick Dunne, a mutant re-animator who specializes in bringing the dead back to live, is forced to help her ex-boyfriend, a spy who needs her help to bring mutated created zombies back to life so he can learn the secret to their existence and then put them down. In the beginning, she didn’t want to come out of hiding, touch more dead things, or fall for her ex, but when one is born during a nuclear winter grave danger awaits at every turn…

~Excerpt~

Truth was, I didn’t want to scare her. At least not as bad as I was scared. Only Daniel, Jaz, and her boyfriend Russell Hines know my secret–the humongous truth that had kept me working a minimum wage crap job and living in the low rent side of town. The reason why every time a knock comes at my door I face the possibility of a firing squad. Or worse.

I’m a ‘Blue Star Baby,’ one of the unfortunate few who were born during the single clear night about a year after the nukes fell. It was the only time the radioactive sludge we called an atmosphere opened up and let true starlight shine through. At least, that’s how the legend goes.

The other story was that BSB’s are all some sort of cosmic mutants. We have different ‘gifts,’ you know. Like some of us can walk through walls or others of us can read minds. Me, I bring back the dead. And the dead aren’t pink and pretty when they come back, you know. They are really nasty, pissed off, and hungry. Know what’s top on their menu? If you guessed anything that breathes, you won the prize.

Let’s just say I do the best I can to stay away from anyone or any thing that once lived and anyplace that houses the dead. Graveyards, crematoriums, high school biology classes, those sort of places.

WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS

~Excerpt~

“What are you thinking about?” he whispered to her. Arm in arm, they held each other, lying on his large bed, wrapped in quilts and sharing a glass of wine.

“I’m thinking that learning proper etiquette might be not so bad.”

MyFairDemon

He laughed and she feltl the rumble of his humor against her cheek. She loved the wide flat plains of his chest and the spattering of dark, curls that bristled against her skin.

“It certainly has been quite enjoyable for me.” He pulled her closer and she delighted at the feel of skin against skin. “In all my experience, I never really understood humans.”

Awesome sauce!

And, for this weekend only, 4/18/15 and 4/19/15, you can download a copy of Always and Forever for free!

Always and Forever is a time travel adventure about an English Regency earl who’s kidnapped by a ghost and taken back in time and is enlisted to rescue the daughter of a Scottish laird from a forced marriage to a cruel landowner.

~Excerpt~

Robert couldn’t stand it any longer. Despite his better judgment, he’d kissed her. But, his action didn’t stop with kissing. In the next instant, they were entwined together, lying with her beneath him on the bench. With abandon, Robert let his hands roam over her firm bottom, his hands pushing up layers of dress and petticoats until he found the soft, warm skin beneath.

Wanting her consumed him. His every thought, his every breath was for Jenna. In those seconds, he knew only that he wanted her more than anything, and damn everything else in this retched world. He would have her, no matter what.

Of course, the thought did occur to him in those seconds that at the height of their passion he might awaken from this wretched dream. That would indeed be a cruel joke, but then when had his life been otherwise? Surprised at the servant’s sudden intrusion, Jenna pulled away from him, but not before Robert inhaled the scent of her arousal. He bit down on a moan. Their brief encounter only left him wanting more. Robert cursed his weakness. What in blazes was happening to him? He’d been all over her like a drunkard trifling a barmaid.

From the very first moment she’d entered the room, something fierce had awakened within him. She was so damn beautiful. Tall and straight, perfectly proportioned–not like the skinny little milkpots he’d known in his own time. No, Jenna MacReynold was full breasted with a small, tight waist and hips made to straddle a man. When she turned away from him, the vision of her backside nearly undid him.

What was happening to him? Had he suddenly become some type of barbarian? He had never thought such things about a woman in his life! Yet, here he was, lusting after her like a hound near a bitch in heat.

He shouldn’t have given in to his baser nature, but seeing her there, dressed in her fine blue silk, sun kissed hair pulled back with a bright yellow ribbon, she looked like an angel from heaven above.

Robert had seen other men react this way and had thought them no better than animals.  Now, it was he who was a beast. Worse yet, he should have been ashamed of his behavior, but to his surprise he wasn’t. In fact, when he was in the same room as Jenna, it was almost as if he hadn’t ever been a fine, titled gentleman. All he wanted to do was push her onto the divan, pull up her skirts and plunder her like the uncivilized rogue he’d become.

My Sexy Saturday is back! New snippet from The Devil To Pay

Hi everyone!

Yes, it’s true!  More ‘My Sexy Saturday’ fun.  Today’s theme are characters who are very sexy and comfortable with it.

And, while you’re at it, check out all the great samples in the ‘My Sexy Saturday’ Blog Hop.  http://www.mysexysaturday.blogspot.com

I chose another passage from my book, The Devil to Pay, about Ayden Royce, a fallen angel, who suddenly human and super sexy, is a dream come true for the prim and proper, Miss Olivia Stone.  In short, he’s the man of her dreams…

“What in the blue blazes?” She muttered, running to the window. The sky had darkened even more, becoming nearly opaque outside the glass. Squinting in the dimness, she thought she saw the outline of a man.

A shot of surprise went through her when she realized just who it was staring back at her.

It was Him. The man in her sketches, and he was no longer outlined in black charcoal pencils. He was real, full bodied, with molten silver eyes, a strong, square face, and wearing a devilishly handsome grin.

Olivia gasped. His every muscle looked like it had been carved in stone, a damp sheen of sweat glistening on his skin. A thick musky male scent rose on the air around him and blended with the blooming roses outside her window.

The sound of his breathing and the movement of his chest with every intake of air held her in thrall. All time ceased as she stared at him.

The stranger’s presence shook Olivia to her very core. Her treacherous body began trembling and she moaned when a flood of delicious desire shot through her coupled with shock when she realized that this man was truly flesh and blood real. Suddenly, the world was fading around her and she saw something scandalous hovering in the depth of his fiery gaze.

He had come for her.

Hello gentle readers!

It’s Sunday morning, and that means another snippet for Weekend Writing Warriors Blog Hop.  You can check out more great samples at:  http://www.wewriwa.com

Here’s my snippet from my book: The Devil To Pay, Book 1 of my Souls Redeemed series:

“Hell’s teeth, that hurts!” Ayden Royce cursed.

The once proud warrior angel hung suspended by thick iron chains in the very same spot for eons while the fires of damnation tormented his soul and seared his flesh. He had been there since the very day that Satan had been defeated and the devil had been cast into the deepest pits of Hell, his punishment to forever be devoured by the relentless flames of his master’s defeat.

Ayden had once attempted to measure his eternal damnation by the strikes of the fiery lash that bit into his skin. Somewhere in the billions, he’d lost count and had to start again. After which, he’d lost count again, and again, and, well…

He supposed that if he had bothered to keep track of just how many times he’d lost count by now, it would have numbered in the billions as well.

Ayden twisted in his chains as another tongue of fire licked at his chest and curled around his waist.

Another thing the angel had come to realize over the centuries was that no matter how much pain he endured, part of the punishment of Hell was that you never really got used to it. Each strike of fire against skin was as agonizing as every other; each rendering of the muscle from the bone was the same excruciating torment as the very first assault. Nothing ever changed and the immense sameness of it all never ceased to amaze him.
