Madam Lily’s Pleasure Ranch, Avery Texas

“Come on over, Cowboy. Let’s see if your dick is as big as your ego.” Lily Barnett had written her response on lavender scented paper.

Wade MacReynolds narrowed his eyes at the tall, elegant female script that was scrawled across the page. Feigning anger, he crumpled up the parchment and stuffed it back into his leather vest pocket. Minutes from riding onto her property and showing her just how well endowed he was, Wade reined in his mount. The animal neighed in annoyance but did as he was bid. The wind stirred around them, and a wolf howling in the distance echoed the unrest stirred in Wade’s chest.

So sorry this is a bit late. I had a very busy, busy work week. No excuses, though. I’m going to do better.

Now, this week’s snippet is from my book, Ride A Cowboy, written under the pen name: Leigh Curtis. You can read all about Leigh (me) at http://www.leighcurtiss.wordpress.com.

Ride A Cowboy is about a ex-convict rancher who’s trying to raise a heard of cattle to sell and earn money to pay off a debt and stay out of prison. Unfortunately all of the water access to his land have been cut off except one. That is owned by a beautiful and stubborn brothel madam. After seeing the hunky cowboy, she decides to grant him access to her land, on one condition. He gets 7 days of water access each week if he spends one night of passion with her.

It wasn’t exactly fear that kept Wade from meeting with her. Any man would be quick to satisfy the itch in his drawers with a fine‐looking woman like Lily. Nearly as tall as a man, red haired with skin as pure as cream, she was every man’s fantasy. And it wasn’t worry for his own performance in the sack that bothered him, either. Wade had always enjoyed a healthy sex life. Well, up to a couple of years earlier when his life had gone to shit, that was.

No, he was pretty sure performance anxiety wasn’t holding him back. It was Lily herself. To his way of thinking, she must have a set of stones on her to say stuff like that to a man on the open range. Still, he had to admit that deep down, a part of him admired the whorehouse madam. She had taken a run down rotting pile of wood and stone and turned it into a thriving business.

“What that woman needs is a man to settle her stew,” Wade’sfine‐looking woman like Lily. Nearly as tall as a man, red haired with skin as pure as cream, she was every man’s fantasy. And it wasn’t worry for his own performance in the sack that bothered him, either. Wade had always enjoyed a healthy sex life. Well, up to a couple of years earlier when his life had gone to shit, that was.

Sticking with the theme of this really cool Paranormal Wednesday blog hop, I’m posting one more snippet from my book: Always and Forever.
It’s what happens when an English Regency earl is kidnapped by a ghost and taken back in time and is enlisted to rescue the daughter of a Scottish laird from a forced marriage to a cruel landowner.

Here’s my story:

Stepping back out into the morning brightness, Jenna was sure the old devil had tricked her. Just as she was about to duck back in the cave, a low moaning caught her attention. Turning full around, she caught a glimpse of something moving nearby. Before her eyes, a drift of snow began to shake, and slowly, something beneath the thin layer of white powder stirred.
The figure of a man wrapped in nothing but a thin white linen shirt rolled sideways. Light brown hair and a ruggedly handsome clean-shaven face turned upward.

Cautiously, Jenna inched forward, and lifting her foot, she gently prodded the stranger. He moaned low in response and then fell quickly back to silence.

The ghost had fulfilled her wish after all.

After being condemned for all eternity, fallen angel, Ayden Royce has one chance to get his freedom–if he can seduce an innocent woman and convince her to sell her soul to the devil and take his place in Hell. Here we have another seductive encounter between the condemned angel and the innocent woman he’s been pursuing…

Desperate, she grabbed at his hips and him downward, until she felt his hard shaft tease her belly with every thrust. Releasing her breasts, he next grabbed her wrists and pushed her arms up over her head and pinned them to the mattress with his left hand. His right hand he used to balance himself on the bed over her.

Olivia thought she would die from wanting him inside of her.  “Please, please, please…” she repeated over and over, a mantra of her unrelenting desire.

But he did not cease his sweet torture. Instead, he closed his mouth over her right nipple and began to suckle, long and sweet. Olivia’s breath caught in her throat. She was paralyzed with sensation.

When she thought she could endure no more, he ran his tongue between the cleft of her chest, down her belly and just above tangle of curls between her legs. Moving his right hand farther down cupped her mound tightly. Before she could react he began to insert his fingers, sliding them in and out, slow and deep in a primal, steady rhythm.

When Olivia moaned, he moved his mouth back up to her left breast and began to suckle her there, taking small bits of her flesh between his teeth and ever so gently sucking inward.

Olivia wept at the sensation, hot tears sliding down her face and dampening the pillow beneath her.  He paused a moment then and she heard him take a deep breath and whisper.  “Let go…”

My Story:

The stranger’s presence shook Olivia to her very core. Her treacherous body began trembling and she moaned when a flood of delicious desire shot through her coupled with shock when she realized that this man was truly flesh and blood real. Suddenly, the world was fading around her and she saw something scandalous hovering in the depth of his fiery gaze.  He had come for her.

Before she knew what was happening, he had climbed through the window, his long legs landing square on her bedroom floor. Then he was walking toward her, every step a long stride as he marched toward her. She could swear she felt the vibration of his approach in the souls of her feet as he advanced.  “Who are you?”

He didn’t answer, but moved closer still, until his body was so near, Olivia could feel the steam rise from his skin. The urge to touch him overwhelmed her and for a moment she raised her hand and let it linger just inches from his chest.  “I want you,” he said simply.

Happy Almost Spring, everyone!

Yes, I know, the weather outside is frightful in a lot of places.  Snow, ice, high winds.  Brrr. Well, throw a long on the fire, crank up the heater or grab a thick quilt.  Time to settle in with a hot cup of tea, or joe, or drink of your pleasure.

What am I up to on my day off?  A little reading, enjoying some netflix and getting ready to open up some edits on my book, To Catch A Lady, due out in January of next year.

After that, it’s back to work on book 2, A Most Delicate Pursuit. A writer’s work is never done…LOL!

I thought I’d stop here before I got back to work and say Hi.  I  had a wonderful writer time yesterday at RWA Chapter: SpacecoasT Authors of Romance (STAR) meeting.

We had the fabulous Cathy Maxwell as a speaker, and she is such an inspiration.  Funny, smart, and very wise.  If you ever get the chance to hear her speak, fellow authors, don’t miss out!

Also, if you live in Florida and haven’t yet heard, STAR is hosting the incredible Hugh Howey on March 28th.

And, if that weren’t cool enough, Brenda Chin will be at the STAR Meeting on April 14th for their Super Saturday.

I so can’t wait!
