Here’s my snippet from my book: The Devil To Pay, Book 1 of my Souls Redeemed series:

“Hell’s teeth, that hurts!” Ayden Royce cursed.

The once proud warrior angel hung suspended by thick iron chains in the very same spot for eons while the fires of damnation tormented his soul and seared his flesh. He had been there since the very day that Satan had been defeated and the devil had been cast into the deepest pits of Hell, his punishment to forever be devoured by the relentless flames of his master’s defeat.

Ayden had once attempted to measure his eternal damnation by the strikes of the fiery lash that bit into his skin. Somewhere in the billions, he’d lost count and had to start again. After which, he’d lost count again, and again, and, well…

He supposed that if he had bothered to keep track of just how many times he’d lost count by now, it would have numbered in the billions as well.

Ayden twisted in his chains as another tongue of fire licked at his chest and curled around his waist.

Another thing the angel had come to realize over the centuries was that no matter how much pain he endured, part of the punishment of Hell was that you never really got used to it. Each strike of fire against skin was as agonizing as every other; each rendering of the muscle from the bone was the same excruciating torment as the very first assault. Nothing ever changed and the immense sameness of it all never ceased to amaze him.

Robert was sure he’d been dreaming. He’d been in a very cold place, with a beautiful woman, in a time before firearms and where women trapped wild animals and skinned them for dinner.

They’d been talking, something about swearing oaths or some such, and the next thing he knew they’d been kissing. And not just kissing, either, but had been on the verge of something else entirely. He’d wanted her, badly. No, it was beyond simple wanting. His body had ached for hers, and it had been a feeling unlike any he’d ever known. He thought if he didn’t make love to her that moment, he would perish. It went beyond rational thought. Beyond his better sense, or any sense at all for that matter.

This strange creature had taken him to the brink of passions unbound and then at the very last second pulled away.

That was when the incessant cold bit at him again. When he realized that his hands had gone numb from being bound at the wrists. That his groin ached with an agony he’d not felt in a long time.

Opening first one eye and then the other, Robert remembered what had happened. He really was somewhere in the distant past, with a beautiful savage woman, and he was completely out of his element.

He’d been wrong, he thought, as he twisted sideways trying to relieve at least a small amount of discomfort in his trousers. He was not just mad.

He was in hell.

I’m so loving these blogs, and Paranormal Loves Wednesdays, http://www.paranormallovewednesdays.blogspot.com is lots of fun!

This week, I’m going to take break from my backlist re-released books to post one that’s going to one that I’m hoping to get back out there soon.

My Fair Demon, book 2 of the Souls Redeemed series, is the story of the torturer Blalock, who, after failing his master when his charge, the fallen Angel Ayden and his bride outsmarted the devil, is not thrown into similar circumstances.  He is ordered to teach another charge, lost soul Corrine LaFarge, how to seduce an innocent man and convince him to sell his soul to the Devil.

Here’s my snippet!

Blalock swallowed. Since he’d long been a favorite of the king of Hell, he had hoped that it had earned him a small measure of consideration. But, the truth was, the devil was anything but considerate. He’d be lucky if he came out of this with his hide intact. “Yes, master.” Blalock bowed low. “How may I serve you?”

“Since you failed so miserably before, I’ve decided to give you a second chance—a chance to earn back an infinitesimal amount of my favor, if you will. Granted, it’s far more than you deserve.”

“As usual, you are correct, master.” Blalock drew in a breath, bowing his head even lower. The stench from the floor of the pit was nauseating, but it was far better than the fetid aroma that emanated from the devil.

“So, here is what I intend for you. Go above ground again. I have provided you a human female to tutor. My plan is for her to entice a certain soul whose imminent change to holiness sticks in my gullet. If she is able to convince him to sell his soul for her, then it will prove that I can still affect the lives of those puny humans. Set her up as a courtesan, so that I may use her as bait to lure more innocents into my lair.”

Hello!

Yes, it’s that time again.  I’m once again participating in the My Sexy Saturday Blog Hop.   This time, I’ll be posting 7 paragraphs from my book, The Devil To Pay!  It’s a Fallen Angel story, where the hero, Ayden Royce has one chance to get out of Hell–and that’s to seduce the beautiful Olivia Stone and convince her to sell her soul to the Devil.

In a Jane Austen meets The Devil and Daniel Webster story, no longer an Angel, poor Ayden must adapt to this new human form, and all of it’s curious emotions and overpowering lustiness. But, the longer he stays human, the harder it is to resist the one thing that will thwart his mission–that of falling in love.

This week’s blog topic?  Sexy Talk…

My snippet:

Ayden drew her into his arms, feathering soft kisses along the line of her jaw, her neck, and then dipping his tongue into the deep well of her bodice. She tasted like sweetcakes dipped in honey.

“Oooohhh,” she purred beneath him.

“What is your wish, my darling?”

“More. Please, more,” she barely breathed.

That was all the encouragement he needed.

Pressing her back, he gently settled her on the wrought iron bench. Once she was down, he knelt before her and gazed into her eyes. Her pupils dilated, and the evidence of her desire darkened her expression like a moonless night.

Suddenly he knew just what would delight her. Laying his head in her lap, he breathed a hot into the folds of her skirt, his hands, grasping her ankles sliding beneath the silks to massage her calves.

“Come on over, Cowboy. Let’s see if your dick is as big as your ego.” Lily Barnett had written her response on lavender scented paper.

Wade MacReynolds narrowed his eyes at the tall, elegant female script that was scrawled across the page. Feigning anger, he crumpled up the parchment and stuffed it back into his leather vest pocket. Minutes from riding onto her property and showing her just how well endowed he was, Wade reined in his mount. The animal neighed in annoyance but did as he was bid. The wind stirred around them, and a wolf howling in the distance echoed the unrest stirred in Wade’s chest.

Hi everyone!

So sorry this is a bit late. I had a very busy, busy work week. No excuses, though. I’m going to do better.

Now, this week’s snippet is from my book, Ride A Cowboy, written under the pen name: Leigh Curtis. You can read all about Leigh (me) at http://www.leighcurtiss.wordpress.com.

Ride A Cowboy is about a ex-convict rancher who’s trying to raise a heard of cattle to sell and earn money to pay off a debt and stay out of prison. Unfortunately all of the water access to his land have been cut off except one. That is owned by a beautiful and stubborn brothel madam. After seeing the hunky cowboy, she decides to grant him access to her land, on one condition. He gets 7 days of water access each week if he spends one night of passion with her.

“Come on over, Cowboy. Let’s see if your dick is as big as your ego.” Lily Barnett had written her response on lavender scented paper.

It wasn’t exactly fear that kept Wade from meeting with her. Any man would be quick to satisfy the itch in his drawers with a fine‐looking woman like Lily. Nearly as tall as a man, red haired with skin as pure as cream, she was every man’s fantasy. And it wasn’t worry for his own performance in the sack that bothered him, either. Wade had always enjoyed a healthy sex life. Well, up to a couple of years earlier when his life had gone to shit, that was.

No, he was pretty sure performance anxiety wasn’t holding him back. It was Lily herself. To his way of thinking, she must have a set of stones on her to say stuff like that to a man on the open range. Still, he had to admit that deep down, a part of him admired the whorehouse madam. She had taken a run down rotting pile of wood and stone and turned it into a thriving business.

“What that woman needs is a man to settle her stew,” Wade’sfine‐looking woman like Lily. Nearly as tall as a man, red haired with skin as pure as cream, she was every man’s fantasy. And it wasn’t worry for his own performance in the sack that bothered him, either. Wade had always enjoyed a healthy sex life. Well, up to a couple of years earlier when his life had gone to shit, that was.

Sticking with the theme of this really cool Paranormal Wednesday blog hop, I’m posting one more snippet from my book: Always and Forever.
It’s what happens when an English Regency earl is kidnapped by a ghost and taken back in time and is enlisted to rescue the daughter of a Scottish laird from a forced marriage to a cruel landowner.

Here’s my story:

Stepping back out into the morning brightness, Jenna was sure the old devil had tricked her. Just as she was about to duck back in the cave, a low moaning caught her attention. Turning full around, she caught a glimpse of something moving nearby. Before her eyes, a drift of snow began to shake, and slowly, something beneath the thin layer of white powder stirred.
The figure of a man wrapped in nothing but a thin white linen shirt rolled sideways. Light brown hair and a ruggedly handsome clean-shaven face turned upward.

Cautiously, Jenna inched forward, and lifting her foot, she gently prodded the stranger. He moaned low in response and then fell quickly back to silence.

The ghost had fulfilled her wish after all.
