Howdy!

What’s your favorite holiday of the year? Mine is probably thanksgiving. Not that I don’t love the others, like Christmas, or New Year, or the 4th of July, (If you’re in the states). But, hey, any day that you get to cook all day and then eat to your heart’s content can’t be bad, right?

Of course, it’s not just that. I have such fond memories of getting up Thanksgiving morning watching the Macy’s Parade, watching my mom rushing around the kitchen, and finally the house filling up with such good smells like baked turkey and apple pie.

What’s not to love?

Then, when I was grown with my own kids, watching them enjoy the same things I did. Then, watching their excitement when they saw Santa’s float at the very end of the parade was just as thrilling for them as I remember. Oh yeah, that makes it one of the best years ever.

Now, my girls are nearly grown, thinking about their own futures, doing things with boyfriends and their families and such. I know that they’re going to have some great things to remember and then make memories of their own.

I hope you all have a great holiday season and if you get the chance, come and share your favorite holiday traditions with us!

Cheers!

Happy Halloween!

Hi there!

Can you believe it?  Halloween is right around the corner!  Incredible, I know.  And when you think Halloween, you think ghosts, ghouls, and gremlins, right?

I think back to my childhood, trick or treating in a small town.  Or, of hauling my own kids up and down the street for hours.  Usually after I’ve spent hours selecting or creating costumes.  Then, getting them all dressed up, only to later tell them to ‘take it easy’ on the humongous bowl of candy they’d scored.

Of course, there were always neighborhood parties, and one every year downtown where all the main street businesses pitched in making it outstanding fun for everyone, kids and grown-ups alike!

Yeah, those were the good times.

Then there was the day my beautiful little Disney Princess showed up dressed like Bloody Mary.

Yeah, times have changed.  Instead of midnight Frankenstein and Dracula movies, we’ve moved passed Michael Jackson’s Thriller Video and into The Saw, Scream and  such horror films limited only by the human imagination and computer animation.

So, what’s your idea of Halloween fun? Scary movies old and new? Watching kids dressed up as comic book heroes and Hollywood Icons?  Or, maybe it’s getting out your favorite picture album and reminiscing about all the Halloweens you and your family have enjoyed over the years.

My favorite Halloween show?  Easy, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! will always be the best.

Have a great time everyone.  If you get the chance, come share your fun stories and pic’s!

Cheers!                                                                                                                         Pam
